The Alabama Stonewall Jackson Memorial Fund, established in 1955 by an act of the Alabama Legislature, awards up to three repayable scholarships each May. To be considered for a scholarship award, the applicant must be an Alabama high school senior and submit an original essay of 1500 to 2500 words on Thomas J. "Stonewall" Jackson.
Repayable scholarships are awarded in the following amounts:
1st place:$3,000
2nd place: $2,000
3rd place: $1,000
Submissions must be postmarked no later than April 1.

HELPING HANDS SCHOLARSHIP
WHO IS ELIGIBLE?The Helping Hands Association is a volunteer group that assists ECM and Shoals hospital. They award four $1,000 scholarships to students who plan to attend a college or university and major in a healthcare-related field. There will be two winners from Lauderdale County and two winners from Colbert County.
HOW TO APPLY:

The apprenticeship program at our facility in Muscle Shoals, AL is supported solely by North American Lighting. Students enrolled in the NAL Technical Apprenticeship program will learn company specific knowledge, earn industry specific certifications, get hands-on training and classroom instruction at North West Shoals Community College in a cutting-edge field.

This is a memorial scholarship honoring Chuck Poland, a school bus driver who shielded his student passengers from a gunman and saved their lives, losing his own. The scholarship is worth $1,000, can be used at any institution, and is a one-time reward.
