PROJECT OPEN - NURSING SCHOLARSHIP AT UNA

DESCRIPTION: Students from disadvantaged backgrounds (financial, educational, and environmental), particularly underrepresented minorities who desire to attend UNA and select nursing as a major will be eligible for the Project OPEN Scholarship Program. The Paul S. Mills Scholarship program offers scholarships to students pursuing an undergraduate education in a financial service related field. This may include finance, accounting, insurance or risk management, actuarial sciences, and related fields of business.

UNA PEER MENTORSHIP PROGRAM
WHAT IS IT?
The UNA Peer Mentorship Program, sponsored by the College of Arts and Sciences, is an opportunity for high school students to be paired with a current COAS Student Ambassador Mentor. The students will have an opportunity to shadow current COAS Ambassadors, and also learn about COAS majors/minors and various career paths.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE?
Applicants must be current 11th or 12th grade students with a desire to explore college options and career opportunities. Students who are selected must be able to provide their own reliable transportation to the UNA campus for various activities. Applicants will be reviewed by a committee of student ambassadors and scored on a rubric. A maximum of 30 students will be selected for the program.

This scholarship program pays for tuition, room, and meals while attending the five week program. Students attend college classes, shadow physicians, and learn about the healthcare field. WHO IS ELIGIBLE? Applicants must be a senior in high school and must have participated in a DIXIE SOFTBALL PROGRAM for at least two seasons. An applicant's ability as an athlete will not be a factor in awarding scholarships. Financial need will be a factor in determining award recipients.

AFSA NATIONAL ESSAY CONTEST
